Global Network Update

" God is at work around the world."  Dr. Gary Hoag, ECFA International Liaison Director/ECFA Press Author

Global Network Update is a quarterly e-newsletter from the ECFA that seeks to encourage faithful financial administration among all nations.

Global Network Update_October 2015

On June 27, 2015, the Christian Council for Financial Transparency of Korea (CCFK) officially launched with a celebration lunch and an international symposium.

Dr. Ho Chan Hwang was named the CCFK founding president, and Rev. Dr. Gary Hoag, ECFA International Liaison, and Rev. Dr. SungWook Chung, ECFA Korean Advisor were present for the festivities. CCFK outlined five standards (Five Stars: Spirituality, Transparency, Accountability, Reliability, and Sound Governance) and commissioned five services for churches and ministries (Accreditation, Consultation, Cooperation, Support, and Education).

A 5-STAR event in South Korea that was attended by members of the CCFK board and advisors, international guests and the famous "Seven Sisters" who pray every single day for CCFK and the Global Network.  A living testimony to the power of the living Word of God:

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
(Rom. 12:12).

"As God answers prayers around the world, let’s celebrate His goodness together. He’s helping His people overcome difficulties in some of the darkest situations by the power of the Holy Spirit. Whilewe rejoice with those who rejoice, let us also faithfully intercede with and for those facing adversity, uncertainty, and crisis. In so doing, our work of encouraging the faithful administration of God’s work among all nations, will be sure to bring Him glory and reflect His love!"

Rev. Dr. Gary G. Hoag, ECFA International Liaison notes in his commentary to this edition of the Global News Update.

On October 12, 2015, the Christian Council for Transparency and Accountability (CCTA) led by Mr. Angelito “Anjji” Gabriel hosted Dr. Gary Hoag, ECFA International Liaison, and Dr. Wes Willmer, ECFA Press Author, for a two-part training for ministry and marketplace leaders in Manila. The two sessions covered “Faithful Administration and Governance: Defining and Measuring Success in Ministry” and “Integration of Faith and Fundraising: Sowing to Rally Sustainable Support.” This gathering was sponsored by the Center for Community Transformation (CCT) and promoted widely with assistance from Dr. Zenet Maramara of Asian Theological Seminary (ATS) and the Christian Stewardship Association (CSA) of the Philippines. CCTA plans to provide further trainings on these topics in cooperation with CCT, ATS, and CSA in response to requests from all over the Philippines.

The featured article, "CCTA Moves Forward" for this Global News Update talked about the visit of Dr. Gary Hoag, ECFA International Liaison Director, and Wes Willmer, ECFA Press author, to the Philippines in October 2015, a trip with a mission that:

  • encouraged and inspired the CCTA board members to move forward with its governance, transparency and accountability advocacy
  • provided an awakening among representatives of various Christ-centered organizations in the Philippines on their practice of governance and stewardship which was the objective of the trainings facilitated by Dr. Gary Hoag and Wes Willmer
